PdAudio Car time 2007

After the RealTime 2007.5 stream, Patrick and Derek decided to try something slightly unusual, and streamed from a portable GPRS connection in a car via Patrick's cell phone and laptop, while on the highway to Statesville. The archive was slightly damanged due to Patrick breaking things as per usual, but the remaining nearly half-hour of content contains enlightening insight into Derek's family life, random belches, listener interaction via messengers, technical wizardry, and some other fun things, just for good measure.

PdAudio Real time 2007.5

On November 23, 2007, the P&D Audio Productions Real Time 2007.5 stream took place at Derek's remote studio no. 0.5. This four-hour, nearly issue-free show consisted of bad Swedish Christmas songs, fun in the bathroom with high quality studio condenser microphones on a Jecklin disk (Patrick is a dork), talk of toilets, and lots of listener interaction, which made this particular show a rather enjoyable one. PdAudio Real time 2007

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to June 9, 2007, the date which played host to P&D Audio Productions Real Time 2007, and the stream that went with it.
After a rocky start, we find Patrick and Derek stuping to such a low level as to play musical slide whistles and Dr. Pepper bottles on top of background music, as well as many other incriminating and fun things.
Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, the last hour of the show archive is missing. However, it wasn't a particularly interesting hour of content, so don't worry, you're not really missing much. download or stream Real Time 2007.

PdAudio Real time 2006.5

On November 24, 2006. Patrick, Derek, and Laura (one of Derek's local friends) presented P&D Audio Productions Real Time 2006.5, which clocked in at just under three hours.
To summarize, Laura has interesting stories from working at an animal shelter, and loads of very strange things are done/discussed, including creating a fake, and I paraphrase, "Canadian wannabe cross-over bluegrass band" with an Ensoniq TS-12 and Derek's one-a-can, which is a strange little piece of wood with a fret board, a guitar string, and a tin can with a hole in the middle to act as a resonator for the string. Derek's squeaky, now dead computer power supply was demonstrated, and other random, yet interesting things occurred. download or stream Real Time 2006.5.

PdAudio Real Time 2006

On June 10 and June 11, 2006, the fifth annual P&D Audio Productions stream occurred, also known as Real Time 2006. Why two dates? Well, it's simple:
Everything that could have possibly broke during the stream died at some point. In fact, the original stream date of Saturday, June 10, 2006, was plagued with so many issues that, after about 1.5 hours of trying really hard to get something to work, we gave up and decided to try again the next day.
The next stream had some issues as well, but they weren't quite as numerous, and we managed to get around most of them.
As a result, the Real Time 2006 stream archive is a combination archive and highlights, featuring the best of the first bungled stream attempt, plus some stuff from after we gave up streaming for the day, and 99 percent of the second one. Even though the streaming computer crashed several times, a thunder storm knocked the power off twice, the talkback archiving solution died, the phone patch had issues, and loads of other bad stuff, we still managed to come up with an archive consisting of over six hours of content, including Derek the swinging pendulum, some old guy with no name who decided to drop in, and loads of other random things.
So, what are you waiting for? download or stream the Real Time 2006 show. You know you want to!

PdAudio Real Time 2005

Due to the success of the PDAudio 2004 stream, linked below, and due to obligatory tradition, the fourth annual P&DAudio Productions realtime stream aired live on June 24, 2005.  It was the longest stream ever, which consisted of the breaking and fixing of some of Patrick's studio configuration, the infamous "Loads and loads of commodes" bit, leading up to Patrick and Derek sounding like a horrible garage band, and all kinds of other strange crap.  Granted, 6 hours was a bit long, but we obviously stayed awake through the stream, and so did the live listeners; thus, you should download or stream the Real Time 2005 archive.

PdAudio Summer 2004

By tradition, for the last three years, Patrick and Derek have done an annual live stream, because Derek was initially obsessed with them, and thought they were the best thing in the world since whatever happens to be cooler than sliced bread on any given Sunday. This obsession, as such lead to the first annual PDAudio stream in 2002, and the tradition remained that their would be a stream every year held at the P&DAudio productions Remote Studio number 0.

On Saturday, June 26, 2004, Patrick and Derek got together at Patrick’s place and did a live stream which lasted 4 hours and 47 minutes, and was, historically, one of the most interesting streams ever done by Patrick and Derek.
According to the original promo for this stream; "With two production/musical freaks setting new standards for sarcasm and trying to make productions equal to the quality of their sarcasm, requests from the listeners, and spontaneous conversation with the ability to take calls on the air; this stream should make you go fwoof!  Although fwoof is not a defined emotion, it is one, and you’ll know kind of what it is after listening to this stream because you would have went fwoof some time while listening!"

Are you curious now? If so, then congratulations, you're in luck!
There are two versions of this stream -- the full, un-cut stream as it was originally broadcast, or the "stream highlights", which is a much more compact version, which highlights the best material from the stream, including a behind-the-scenes look at the local talk back bus. If you don't want to go through the entire stream, this is the best option.

For best results while listening to the un-cut 2004 stream, you may want to download the the winamp mp3PRO decoder, which is antiquated, and no longer supported. It was, however, a good idea at the time.

Other streams

If only two streams per year aren't enough, Here are some other streams you may want to check out, which Patrick and Derek do independently on the Beyond Radio Network, which is maintained by Andre Louis and friends.

WDGLFM is Derek’s show airing from 2 to 5 eastern, which contains loads of strange and weird things. The show mainly focuses on talk with the minimum of show prep, which of course saves time, and allows for listener participation from callers and IM's. It's not all talk though, from the DGL Man himself, as special guests sometimes come on the show; some are invited, while others aren’t. Because of the equipment available in the studio, talk can lead to loads of other strange and weird things, like the generation of sound effects using strange objects, and the general mucking about with DSP.

Things and Stuff with no one in particular is Patrick's Saturday night show on TBRN from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. This show, as the name suggests, is very random, with little planning. Very interesting things can, and have been known to occur during the course of this show. Things and Stuff brings a variety of music, talk, issues and boxes all together in one compact, easily-accessible resource for you, the listener, to enjoy.
